Important Additional Information for those competing in 4x4 or 5x5 Blindfolded
4x4 Blindfolded and 5x5 Blindfolded will be held at the start of the competition in the main room of the competition. This means it may get quite noisy during the second half of the event as registration begins. We advise competitors bring noise protection, in accordance with the WCA Regulations
We request that those competing in 4x4 Blindfolded or 5x5 Blindfolded arrive promptly between 8:15 and 8:25 so that we can begin at the scheduled start time. We also request that, if possible, competitors bring a friend or family member who is familiar with the process of judging a blindfolded solve. If this is not possible, please let us know to ensure you have a judge so we can start on time.
Please be aware that 4x4 Blindfolded or 5x5 Blindfolded competitors who arrive after 8:40 will not be permitted to compete in these events.
Each round of an event at a WCA competition is typically run in groups. As an example, at Cool Down Sydney 2019, there are 5 different competing groups for 3x3, each scheduled to take approximately 20 minutes.
Competitors are able to access their personal schedules (which indicates their competing groups and group times) via the following link: https://cooldownsydney2019.herokuapp.com/en
Competitors will also receive a printout of their personal schedule upon registration at the competition venue.
We will endeavour to run to schedule for all groups. However, you must be ready to compete at least 20 minutes before you are scheduled. Please be aware that delays may occur throughout the day.
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
